Why pole setups vary so much
Pole fishing can mean delicate roach rigs, refined F1 tactics or strong margin fishing for commercial carp. The pole gives direct control over presentation, but the terminal tackle still has to match the fish, bait, depth and cover.
For small silverfish, fine line and small hooks help natural presentation. For F1s, tackle can remain relatively refined while still allowing for bonus carp. Margin carp near reeds, platforms or other cover require a much stronger rig because the fish has very little distance to travel before reaching a snag.
Do not copy a diameter without context
Line diameters and breaking strains vary between products, and pole elastic also changes how much shock the hooklength experiences. Treat the figures in the table as starting points and follow the fishery's hook and line rules.
